VINTAGE 2009

A windy summer with mild temperatures caused smaller berries and even, slow ripening which led to the best vintage in grape quality in more than forty years according to veteran winemakers. Our yield was 60.5 hectolitres per hectare.

Our first vintage: a serious, dry Merlot rosé – intentional ageing before release with a colour of salmon-pink and onion skin to be enjoyed throughout all seasons. Delicate aromas of ripe strawberries, peach and plum evolve in the glass to more complex flavours of grapefruit, pomegranate and hints of herbs on the palate. Supple tannins together with a dry, balanced mouthfeel leads to a lingering finish. A complex rosé showing layers of fruit and secondary characters – lingering and balanced on the palate.
