VINTAGE 2011
A cool spring resulted in slighlty delayed budding, but perfect warmer weather ensured normal conditions for even berry set. Summer was slightly warmer and more windy that average and led to a very warm early harvesting period. Precision in our approach to irrigation scheduling together with hands on canopy management, helped our grapes to achieve good overall ripeness and a balanced analysis with a fresh, natural acidity. Our yield was 55.3 hectolitres per hectare.
A substantial, dry Merlot rosé wine with a delicate salmon-pink and onion skin hue and a nose of summer fruits. Delicate aromas of ripe red berries, strawberries and citrus blossom evolve in the glass to more complex flavours of grapefruit, pomegranate and hints of herbs on the palate. Supple tannins together with a dry, balanced mouthfeel leads to a persistent finish. A well-weighted rosé wine that boasts a complex character and a lingering palate.
