VINTAGE 2010

A mix of cold and warm spring weather caused slightly later and uneven budding, but good berry set followed as a result of moderate weather conditions during flowering. Thanks to our well drained soil, the huge rainfalls during early summer did not have a negative effect on our vineyards.  A few very hot days occurred during early January, but the rest of the summer and harvest period was warm and sunny. Our grapes achieved good ripeness with intense colour and structure as a result of focused canopy management. Our yield was 60.5 hectolitres per hectare.

A serious, dry Merlot rosé wine with a delicate salmon-pink and onion skin hue and a nose of summer fruits. Delicate aromas of ripe strawberry, peach and plum evolve in the glass to more full-bodied flavours of grapefruit, pomegranate and hints of herbs on the palate. Supple tannins together with a dry, balanced mouthfeel lead to a lingering finish. A well-weighted rosé wine that boasts a complex character and a lingering palate.
